The CUBAG membership arrangements provide for:
- A Membership base comprised of CHA licenced and freight forwarding companies involved in customs-related matters;
- An Affiliate base comprised of Shipping, Logistics and Haulage companies; and
- Elected National Executive Committee (NEC) and District Executive Committees (DEC) as prescribed by the 2016 CUBAG constitution are responsible for the running of the association at their respective jurisdictions. NEC is made up of 11 elected members and a representative from each of the 4 Districts. The DECs on the other hand comprises of 7 elected office holders from member companies in good standing.
These governance arrangements and structure have been put in place to:
- ensure that the CUBAG is a transparent, democratic organisation that truly represents the views of its members;
- provide for an expanded policy and management input from across the CUBAG membership; and
- provide an opportunity for all Members to participate in its management and decision-making processes.
CUBAG holds an annual general meeting of its members once in each calendar year and where appropriate, holds national general meetings with top executives of its member companies. Annual meetings like the CEOs Luncheon, Directors Conference and the like, typically confirm the minutes of the last annual general meeting, receives and considers reports of various committees and make resolutions that shape CUBAGs policy direction.
